Around 300 athletes from the Kiama, Lake Illawarra, Albion Park, Shoalhaven, St Georges Basin, and Milton-Ulladulla centres competed at Kiama Sports Complex.
Athletes who finished in the top three progressed to the regional championships to be held in Leeton in February, but many other athletes are expected to qualify on "next best" times as zone results filter through.
Delta Amidzovski from Albion Park won the 70 metre sprint in 10.8 seconds and set a new record in the 60 metre hurdles with a time of 10.3.
Lake Illawarra's Ella Hendrick equalled the under-10 girls zone high jump record with a leap of 1.25m, while Shoalhaven discus thrower Samantha Peace smashed the under-17 discus record by eight metres with a throw of 47.63m.
One of the highlights of the weekend was the under-17 boys 800m run won by Jye Edwards of Albion Park, who pipped Cameron Musgrove (Shoalhaven), Kade Szakacs (AP) and Harry McGill (Shoalhaven).
Edwards set a new zone record with 2.02, and all four crossed the line faster than the previous zone record.
Lake Illawarra's Noah Jackson set a new shot put record in the under-7 boys with a throw of 7.52m, while Trey Barlow (AP) set a new 12 boys discus record with a throw of 40.39m.
Lake Illawarra's under-17 walker James Clay smashed the previous 1500m record with a time of 7 min 23.
Albion Park's Jack Fowler jumped 1.72 m to set a new zone record in the high jump.
