There were smiles all round on Tuesday when Kiama Library presented certificates for their annual photographic competition - this year entitled "My Favourite Place'.

In presenting the certificates to the winners of each category, Kiama Mayor Brian Petschler praised the quality of the photos on display.
"There is no doubt that Kiama lends itself to having lots of 'favourite places', and the quality of the photos presented backs that up," he said.
"I would also like to congratulate Kiama Library for running their special photo competition each year and giving people the opportunity to show off their photographic skills."
In the 5-12 age category Sylvie Baudy-Cameron was runner-up with her photo 'Bunny Enclosure', while Ethan Clarke was judges' top pick with his photo entitled 'Froth Monster'.
Ryan North dominated the 13-18 division with his photos 'Minnamurra Rainforest' and the stunning 'Galaxy'.
Open runner-up Rayner Zuch with 'Walking the Barren Grounds', winner was Bea Hodgson with ';Backyard Reading Corner', while Eva Westacott received a highly commended for 'Neptune Cafe'.
Winner of the library staff award was Hilton Bloomfield with 'Kiama Sunrise', while Bea Hodgson's 'Backyard Reading Corner' was Brian Petschler's 'Mayor's Choice'.
