Kiama Lions
Last week, we hosted our annual luncheon party for the VIPs (Visually Impaired Persons). It was a pleasant affair and we are told that it is eagerly anticipated by our guests every year.
This month we have two markets, so we look forward to serving you on both occasions with our delicious doughnuts, pies and hot/cold drinks. We are currently investigating the purchase of an even better coffee machine to provide a more comprehensive service.
On the social side we will be having one of our periodic Happy Hours at a member's house, which is an important social occasion for our club.
At our next dinner meeting we will have our annual Youth of the Year contest, which will be followed by our Christmas Party.
Gerringong Lions
We have a problem - nobody has claimed the prize in our Melbourne Cup Boxed Trifecta. The winning numbers were 4, 5 and 12 in any order. Please check your tickets and if you have them, give us a call (James Doak: 4234 3448).
Our Christmas trailer raffle is going full swing; you'll see us in Fern Street and also at IGA Gerringong every Saturday morning.
Make sure you get your tickets for this huge prize.
Money raised will help send local youth to Outward Bound.
Minnamurra Lions
The caretaker at the Jervis Bay Caravan Park won the Melbourne Cup Trifecta ticket.
Our Christmas trailer raffle rolls on to Kiama Village this Friday and again outside Ray White Real Estate in Terralong Street on Saturday.
The trailer and all it holds is valued at more than $3000, and there are lots of vouchers from local businesses as additional prizes.
Our board has again decided to make a contribution to the Kiama High School Annual Speech Night.
Kiama Men's Probus
Kiama Men's Probus Club meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month (except December) at 9.15am at Kiama Bowling & Recreation Club.
Our next meeting is November 26 and we have a special presentation of the Shen Yun 2014 Performing Arts Group whose theme is the Renaissance of Traditional Chinese Culture.
We are inviting the wives/partners of members to join us. New members can contact president Phil Lewis on 4236 0166 or join us on the day.
Kiama CWA
Congratulations to all our entrants in the Kiama CWA Land Cookery, especially the students from Kiama High School who entered the junior under-18 years section.
Our last monthly meeting for the year is December 2 at the CWA Hall, Shoalhaven Street, 1.30pm start. Please bring a small plate of Christmas fare for afternoon tea.
Visitors are welcome. The CWA Hall is for hire; contact Ruth Cole on 4232 4963.
