Cr John Murray announced at the last council meeting that he had made a code of conduct complaint against Cr Peter Moran for breaching council confidentiality on the Lamerton House sale.
This was in reference to a recent Lake Times report where Cr Moran confirmed his July prediction of the inclusion of land at Benson Basin, Shellharbour in the Lamerton House sale, had come to fruition. This confirmation was held in a confidential meeting on September 30.
Cr Murray said it was an obligation of each councillor to "respect our duties" and not let personal views interfere with council decisions.
"Cr Moran is against the city hub, we are all for or against different issues we feel passionate about, however there is still a process to go through," Cr Murray said.
"Council makes decisions based on a majority. It is a democracy, not everybody wins, but our individual responsibility is to accept that and work within that."
However, Cr Moran said Cr Murray was also in breach of council confidentiality.
"If Cr Murray wishes to move a conduct complaint against me, then he too should sanctioned for announcing the involvement of Stocklands in the sale."
"It was not in the public domain that Stocklands were the buyer in the Lamerton House sale, and that is in itself is a breach of confidentiality," Cr Moran said, "My prediction that all or part of Benson Basin would be sold was made without the benefit of confidential information.
