It brings together elite athletes from all the high school systems. Many of Athletics Wollongong's high school juniors attended. We are proud of the huge effort put in by all.
Competition was enthusiastic and tough. For example, Bailey Antrobus was seventh in the 14 boys' 100-metre final, in a time of 11.92sec. That is mighty fast for a 14-year-old, and yet to win you had to bring along your best game.
Below are our finalist placings. Most of those listed qualify to go to the Australian All Schools.
Jarrod Twigg competed in 16 boys' 110m hurdles: 1st, 14.61sec; 15B 100m, 2nd; 15B 200m hurdles, 1st, 25.85.
Casey Lee Bedford: 15G 200m, 2nd, 25.33; 100m, 3rd, 12.59.
Rosie Tozer: 12G high jump, 1st, 1.51 metres; 6th, 80m hurdles.

Two of our Athletics Wollongong masters athletes competed in Canberra in the Australian Masters Throwing Championships. Stuart Gyngell, in the 50 men, still suffering from a persistent virus, threw the hammer 44.02m, shotput 16.08m, discus 45.95m and weight throw 15.26m. Phil Frkovic in the same class scored hammer 43.35m, shotput 12.47, discus 36.28 and weight throw 15.08. Well done, guys.
