The championship event, to be hosted by the Shellharbour Sharks Rugby League Club at Ron Costello Oval, will see the champions series buckles awarded to riders from NSW, Queensland and Victoria.
"The last couple of years we've had the finals at the football fields in Wyong, but we decided to relocate this year and we're looking forward to coming to Shellharbour and I think it's going to be a great event," East Coast Bull and Bronc Riding Championships president Allen Wilson said.
"We have a points system that runs through the series and then for the final event of the year, which is Shellharbour this year, the top 15 or 20 riders, depending on what event it is, compete for the buckles."
Events at the championship will include bull riding, bronc riding, bare-back riding, steer riding and women's bail racing.
One of the bigger rodeo series in the country, the championships will feature a range of attractions besides the competitive rides.
"We're probably one of the most prestigious bull and bronc competitions in Australia and especially on the East Coast, and with it being the finals, there's going to be some pretty good riders at Shellharbour," Wilson said
"We try to have other attractions so there's something for everybody, so we've got things like the rodeo clowns and trick riders who can do some amazing things on horseback."
Shellharbour Sharks president Allan Cody said the club had decided to reach out to the organisers of the rodeo following recent upgrades to the ground.
"With the work we've done to the ground in the past couple of years we thought we'd try and hold some more events outside of footy, things that promote the club and also the area."
