A generous benefactor has donated nine hats, each worth around $200, which the branch is selling at a reduced price to raise funds.
Jamberoo Red Cross member Lesley Curnow said the hats would be perfect for anybody looking to finish of their outfit for the race that stops a nation.
"They're all really good quality hats, they'd all be worth around $200-$250 and they're all beautiful," Mrs Curnow said.
"With Melbourne Cup coming up, we thought this would be a great time to sell them and try and raise some money for the Red Cross."
Mrs Curnow said the proceeds from the sale of the hats would go towards worthy causes.
"All the money we get from selling the hats will go to the Red Cross and it will be used around Australia and the world to help those who need it.
"There's plenty of people around the world that need help, especially with what's happening with Ebola in Africa, so if somebody's looking for a hat then why not buy one of these ones?" Mrs Curnow said.
The hats are being sold at Nerrilee Antiques in Allowrie Street, Jamberoo.
