ONE of three men allegedly involved in a robbery at Gerringong Bowling Club last year has been charged after police identified him through DNA evidence.
The arrest comes a week after three staff members at the club were held up at gunpoint in a separate incident.
The 29 year-old Port Kembla man was charged with one count of Aggravated Break and Enter and one count of Commit a Serious Indictable Offence following the robbery that left the club with hefty damage bill.
Police allege that the three men broke into into the club at around 2am September 9, 2013 and stole an amount of cash after forcing open a number of poker machines and in doing so caused more than $10 000 worth of damage to the machines.
The scene was forensically examined and evidence seized in relation to DNA, which eventually proved a match to the accused man.
The 29 year-old will face Port Kembla Local Court on November 3.
