The club will hold a round of three major surf sport competitions; the Australian Surf Rowers League (ASRL), the Trans-Tasman Tri Series and the Sydney Water Premiership.
"It's going to a pretty big year with the events we've got coming up but I think it's going to be good for the club," club vice-president Tracey Freeman said.
"The ASRL is a pretty big event - there will probably be something like 350 boat crews from across Australia here for that. Then the Tri Series will see athletes from the Central Coast and New Zealand here to compete, and the Sydney Water carnival will be a big one with juniors and seniors involved."
Freeman said the events, in particular the ASRL, would be a boost for the region.
"The ASRL event we're hosting has been held in Stockton for the last couple of years and they decided to move it this year. They approached us to see if we'd be willing to host.
"I think that's a good sign for the area and with that many people coming for the weekend, I think it's going to be a great boost for the area."
With the patrol season having recently started the club is getting a better idea of its number for the season and also signs are pointing to another strong year.
"We're still finalising our nippers numbers at the moment," Freeman said. "Last year we had around 370 and it looks like we'll be close to that again this year, which makes us one of the biggest clubs in the South Coast Branch.
"We're hoping to have four boat crews for this year. At the moment we've got two reserves and a veterans crew and we're working on getting a womens crew as well, and all the crews we've got so far are really keen.
"We've also got a strong history of master's athletes performing well in country and state titles."
