The exhibition will be held at Kiama Leagues Club's auditorium from September 8-16.
Society president Judy White said it was strong support from the entrants, sponsors and community that kept its status as one of Kiama's calendar events.
"We've got about 300 entries this year and we've still got the big artists coming from interstate," she said.
The exhibition will include a children's section and some artworks will be available to buy.
Among the exhibitors will be Kiama Downs' Max Smith, who has never missed an exhibition in his 18-year society membership. Mr Smith received a life membership award at the society's annual general meeting recently for his tireless effort at exhibitions and his involvement with the Kiama plein air group, who paint outdoors.
The 83-year-old described the exhibition's standard as "excellent".
"It's as good as you'll find anywhere in the state," he said.
Canberra judges Patricia Wheatstone and Ilona Lasmanis will decide the winners before Kiama Mayor Sandra McCarthy opens the exhibition on Friday, September 7, at 6pm. Entry for the opening night is $10 including a catalogue and refreshments.
Opening hours from September 8-15 will be from 10am-6pm.
