Candletown were open for business on Wednesday morning, still drying up a small section of their floor due to water damage, while their electricity was only partly effected, with their kettle out of action.
Next door at the Ritzy Gritz restaurant, owner Peter O'Connor was surveying the water damage and hoped to have his electricity supply restored so they can reopen on Thursday night.
The drama started just before 6pm on Thuesday night when a Ritzy Gritz staff member spotted flames at the back of the heritage listed building and quickly alerted other staff members who managed to clear the restaurant and alert the fire brigade.
Ambulance officers who were in the vicinity and had seen the flames, and were quickly on the scene and started to fight the fire.
The fire had unfortunately spread into the roof of the restaurant and the next door candle shop, however a large number of Fire and Rescue fire fighters were quickly on the scene and averted serious damage.
The Terrace Houses will be celebrating their 130th anniversary late next year.
