The event recognised the achievements of all young people who chose to be a part of the successful 18-month project.
The NSW Office of Communities funded the project, which was run in partnership between Kiama Council and Kiama Community College.
"The project's goal was to support and encourage young people to be involved in local decision-making, and to influence what youth-friendly events happen in the Kiama municipality," Youth Belonging Project co-ordinator Bonnie Hittman said.
"I'm proud of every young person involved, as they certainly achieved these goals by organising a number of exciting and engaging activities.
"We also had tremendous support from Kiama Community College, who allowed us to use their facilities, and (thanks) to Kiama Council for backing the project through their Youth Centre staff.
"Also thanks to Member for Kiama Gareth Ward, who arranged funds to run the project."
Major projects organised by the students were a School Sleepout which raised $500 for homeless youth charity CareSouth, and assisting with Kiama's first Youth Forum held at The Pavilion, which provided young people with the opportunity to share their ideas for Kiama's future.
The Young Men's Group, with the assistance of Kiama youth workers Andrew Chatfield and Dylan Powell, are creating a promotional video to show young people how to use Kiama's outdoor exercise equipment, and encourage them to use it.
Kiama Mayor Brian Petschler praised the organisers and students.
"It is great to see the youth of Kiama getting more involved with projects like this, and for Kiama High School and their staff who have also offered such great support," Cr Petschler said.
Mr Ward also praised the project.
"It was great to meet so many young people from Kiama High School actively engaged and involved with Kiama's first Youth Forum at The Pavilion recently," he said.
CareSouth's Kim Newman accepted the $500 cheque from participant Toby Allen.
