Fourteen-year-old Casey Campbell was awarded the prestigious Baden Powell (BP) Award and 11-year-old Marisa Jasprizza the Junior BP at a presentation on Tuesday.
The accolade is the highest award within the Girl Guides Australia program and goes to members after completing several levels of challenges.
Warilla Guides' leader Susan Costello said she was proud to be giving the award to the guides who had seen their challenge all the way through.
“It is a great evening and a great way to bring us all together,” she said.
“Girl Guides at Warilla is a lot of fun and has been running for almost 50 years.
“Well done to the girls and welcome to the new recruit Taija Barden and others who have come along to make this special night as well.
“We hope that others will take up the challenge, so Guiding can continue for another 50 years. The program teaches young girls skills for life, self-esteem, confidence, community awareness and fun both indoors and outdoors in Shellharbour.”
Ms Costello said she invited any girls between the ages of seven-10 years, or interested leaders in Shellharbour to register with the group. It meets once a week on Tuesday from 4.30pm.
An introduction to Girl Guides Warilla will be held on October 28 with a Halloween theme.
