IT appears Shellharbour's councillors are at it again with their childish rants ("Silencing by mayor outrages", Lake Times, September 10).

We elect councils to take care of local community issues, not to indulge in petty political squabbles.
Before the last election, the affairs of the council were being conducted by a government-appointed administrator because of the sacking of its elected representatives.
This speaks volumes about the wisdom of allowing a team of politically-driven individuals, with questionable credentials, to make decisions in the best interests of the community.
We are already over-governed.
One needs to question the need for a third level of government, given the childish antics on display at the council's meetings of late.
