Made up of rugby league, rugby union and soccer players, the team had a great run to make it to the final of the knockout played at Remondis Stadium, home of the Cronulla Sharks, last Wednesday.
It wasn't to be Flinders' day though, as they went down 8-4 to King Street Public School from Singleton.
While they didn't get the result they wanted, Flinders teacher and coach Naomi O'Neill was proud of their effort.
"I'm extremely proud of what the boys have done, they put in a great effort in all their games," Mrs O'Neill said.
"Even though we didn't win, it was extremely exciting for the boys to play on a first grade field and it was great to see the bus load of supporters we had there to cheer them on.
"The opposition was massive - some of the officials at the game told me it was one of the gutsiest defensive efforts they have seen from any school team in any grade."
To get to the final the team had to make it through five preliminary rounds as well as the semi and quarter-finals.
In the quarter-final Flinders hosted Warragamba, who had the size advantage, but Flinders managed to hold on for a gutsy 10-8 win.
The semi-final was a thriller, Flinders knocking off South Wagga 16-10 in extra-time.
Meanwhile, the school is on the lookout for someone who would like to sponsor a set of football jumpers for next year.
"The jumpers we use are massive, you could nearly fit two boys in most of them, while we mix and match socks, so it would be great to hear of any business who could help us out - just give the school a ring," Mrs O'Neill said.
