Police have arrested and charged a man in relation to the alleged armed robbery and carjacking of a taxi driver at Kiama on Friday.

The 42-year-old driver picked up passenger about 3.30am on Friday , August 29 from the eastern side of Wollongong Railway Station.
The man requested the driver drop him off at Kiama. Once at the lighthouse on Blowhole Point Road, he allegedly produced a knife and demanded money.
According to police, the taxi driver handed over cash and got out of his vehicle, while the armed man got out and ran to the driver’s seat, before driving from the scene.
The taxi was later found abandoned on Swamp Road in Jamberoo. It was seized for forensic examination.
A 31-year-old man was arrested in Warilla in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
He has been charged with armed robbery and take/drive conveyance without consent.
He is to appear at Port Kembla Local Court today.
