MINOR premiers University defeated reigning champions Albion Park 4-2 in the Illawarra Hockey league major semi-final at Unanderra on Sunday.

The Park will now have a chance to redeem themselves when they play Wests Illawarra in the minor final on Sunday.
Wests beat Robertson 6-2 in the minor semi, Elliott Ashby leading the charge with a hat-trick.
Defence played a key part in the major semi game between Albion Park and Uni, with scores locked 2-all at half-time.
The Park went ahead through Blake Govers but the students came back, taking the score to 2-1 with goals from Heath Ogilvie and Jeremy Huk.
Undeterred, Park rallied and Shane McLeish equalled the score.
University fought hard in the second half and took the game to 4-2 via goals to Simon Beaton and Corey Harding.
Students captain Heath Ogilvie said the match was a step above the round games.
In other major semi-finals, Park beat Uni Blue 1-0 in second grade, University beat Park 2-1 in third grade, Park Green defeated Park White 3-0 in fourth grade and Uni Blue downed Wests 1-0 in extra time in fifth grade.
