Emergency service agencies ran an exercise to test procedures and methods during a surprise mock incident last week.
The event was a mock simulation of a light plane requesting an emergency landing on the runway.
The exercise involved a pilot and passenger who required treatment by ambulance crews.
The objectives were for the Combat agencies and the council to exercise communication procedures, site access and site control for a multi-agency response at the airport.
The Civil Aviation Safety Authority requires the multi-agency exercise be conducted once a year.
Mayor Marianne Saliba said as the caretaker of the airport, council worked closely with emergency agencies to facilitate a prompt and capable response to any possible incident on the site.
