The home team were well and truly in it at half-time, trailing by 17-15.
After the break the gargantuan Avondale pack denied Kiama clean ball and starved the home side's backline of quality possession, as the huge defensive effort of the first half began to take its toll on the home team.
The Wombats had a mountain of ball and spread it wide to their speedsters, resulting in four long-range tries.
Kiama seconds also put in a great effort against the undefeated Wombats outfit.
Ryan Lucas had a tremendous game in attack and defence, and was strongly supported by captain Johnny Wilkinson.
The home team put it to their much-vaunted opponents before finally succumbing 32-12.
Brendan Czulowski, Carlin Simon and the ageless Scott Duncan had terrific games in the backs with Wilkinson, Lucas and Heath Donnelly putting in strong performances in the engine room.
The Kiama first grade boys must win this weekend to secure a semi-final berth.
After losing by one point in the first round, the Kiama boys take on the Bluebags at Vikings on their home turf this Saturday.
