Bowled out by weather

THE weather prevented Kiama Bowling Club ladies from any play last week, however the men managed to get the semi-finals of the triples played, and a few early round matches of the minor singles.

The men's triples semi saw A. Tarbert, M. Pepper and M. Miller defeating C. Baker D. Newman and T. Martin 29-14. In the other semi S. and C. Rolls and B. Rossiter defeated M. and B. Wilson and R. Campbell 24-20. The final between M. Miller's team and B. Rossiter's team is due to be played on September 30.

In the men's minor singles, M. Miller beat T. McGuiness 31-25, B. Gibson defeated R. Dylan 31-11 and B. Hudson defeated M. Lomas 31-10.

Five of our newer bowlers will be representing the club in the Rookies State Championship next weekend.

This competition is for bowlers who have been playing for less than 30 months and we wish D. Loone, D. Kohlenberg, R. Dylan, K. Bratby and D. Coughlan the best of luck in this tournament.

On Saturday, September 6, the men have their annual "rotating" triples competition.

The ladies are having their annual Spring Carnival on Monday, September 15.

The AGM will take place on Sunday, September 14 at 9.30am.

All members are encouraged to attend.
