Brenton Avdulla might not be on favourites at Randwick on Saturday but he knows they will handle the heavy conditions. "It is one of those days where you go to the races thinking this is all right," Avdulla said. "It actually could be very good. I'm riding Self Sense, which comes from Victoria with a great wet-track record and winning its past three. I don't think you could ask for better form than that and he drops back in distance, so he should run it out. It will be up to whether he is up to Sydney grade. In Cahoots won the Gosford Guineas on a very heavy track, so we know he will get through it. I have the ride on Weary that has class and has run some good races in the autumn when it was wet." Stewards are also likely to finish the inquiry into Avdulla's ride on Celtic Prince from last week, where they were concerned about him letting odds-on Entirely Platinum in during the early stages. "I haven't heard anything from the stewards but I assume they will wrap it up on Saturday," he said.
