Grandparents from all over the region, and some as far as the Sunshine Coast, came to the school to share the day with their grandchildren.
Balarang Public School hold the event every year and invite previous generations into the school and the classroom to celebrate education and see the work of the grandchildren.
Balarang Public School principal Ann-Marie Hurley said this year the school held Grandparents' Day in conjunction with Book Week, with a strong focus on reading and literature.
“The day is about the children sharing their love of literature with their grandparents, while also making a positive connection with community,” Ms Hurley said.
“The whole school is taking part in Grandparents' Day and it gives the children an opportunity to share some of the books they are reading, writing they have done and the grandparents can share their own stories with the children.”
