ALBION Park's Amanda Halls is putting her hair where her heart is when she shaves her head in aid of the Prostate Cancer Foundation Australia on Saturday.

The 29-year-old said her father, Allan, who has prostate cancer, asked her to help him shave his head when his hair started falling out as a side-effect of chemotherapy, and came up with the idea of a fund-raiser to help the cause.
"At first I was a bit apprehensive, but then thought 'it's just hair and will always grow back' and started planning an event, where I hope to raise $700.
"That looks well and truly achievable as I already have pledges for $550," she said.
"When I started planning I thought I may as well have it at my house, but had no idea how big it would get. I have stuck to the original plan and am pretty excited about how it will turn out. I work at Meals on Wheels in Kiama and they have been great. In fact, I have a tin there that is already pretty full."
"I just want to do something positive and my dad thinks it's great - in fact, he is amazed.
She also thanked Colin and Juanita Harris, from Terry St Meat and Seafood, who have donated the meat for the barbecue on the big day.
