KIAMA MP Gareth Ward has said it is business as usual within the NSW parliament despite the ongoing Independent Commission Against Corruption hearings claiming the scalps of two more government MPs.

Andrew Cornwall and Tim Owen, the members for Charleston and Newcastle respectively, resigned from the parliamentary Liberal Party and relinquished their parliamentary positions following the ICAC’s revelations the pair may have been involved in funnelling illegal donations from developers to the Liberal Party prior to the 2011 election.
Mr Cornwall was the NSW government Chief Whip and his resignation sees Mr Ward assume the position in an acting capacity.
Mr Ward was elected deputy whip in a cabinet reshuffle in May.
‘‘It’s business as usual, as deputy whip I had similar duties and responsibilities as I do now,’’ he said.
‘‘I can’t comment on what’s happening at the ICAC hearings, but inside the legislative assembly it’s business as usual.’’
