Having set a state record to win the NSW under-9 800m title in March, Taj came home at the front of a field of 49 at the cross-country event in what was described as a "fast and furious" race.
Also flying the Kiama colours on the cold and windy winter day was Elias Oldfield, who did brilliantly to place eighth in the under-7 boys cross-country event.
It is almost time to dust off the singlets for the 2014-15 season.
