Everyone is invited to visit the next Safety Pop-Up Meeting and share stories and experiences relating to safety matters in our area. Singers need to prepare a song of their choice and provide a backing track on CD. Register by calling Juliet Scrine on 4267 3920, on weekdays from 9am to 5pm. Make sure you can attend all the scheduled rehearsals outlined at the audition.
Also, we were recently given the honour of breaking bread with members of our community to celebrate iftar - the evening meal at which Muslims end their fast during the Islamic month of Ramadan.
More than 30 people attended the dinner including religious leaders, councillors and council staff, with food provided by members of the Islamic community.
This was a wonderful night where we exchanged ideas and talked openly about faith and religious practices. It is always exciting to build on relationships and understand cultural differences within our community.
