Hockey stars Casey Eastham, Tristan White and Kieran Govers, and lawn bowler Karen Murphy will all be very much in the frame for medals, with the men's and women's hockey teams strong favourites after showing great form at recent world cups, where the men won gold and the women's team finished with silver.
Murphy is one of bowls' most decorated champions and will play a prominent role in the Australian team.
Interest will also centre on 1500 metre runner Ryan Gregson who was born in Albion Park before his family moved to Perth. They now live in Bulli.
