The Panthers fullback, easily the best player on the field, slotted a 30 metre field goal with 51 seconds remaining to sink the Broncos 35-34 and help Penrith rejoin Canterbury and Manly on top of the ladder.

It was an incredible show of resilience and determination from the Panthers, but the win was marred by injuries to three of their in-form players and one of their biggest fans.

It was a disastrous 40 and a bit minutes to start proceedings at Sportingbet Stadium, with five-eighth Tyrone Peachey and winger Josh Mansour forced up the tunnel, before a Panthers fans was stretchered off the field after injuring his leg during the 'big ball bash' half time entertainment.

It was a bizarre twist to what was an inspirational performance from the Panthers, who finished the game with just one player on the bench after Adam Docker was forced from the field in the second half with concussion.

The one point victory on home soil was inspired by Moylan and stand-in skipper Jamie Soward, who destroyed the Broncos in a high-scoring affair at the foot of the mountains.

The Panthers came into the game needing a win to rejoin the Sea Eagles and Bulldogs as competition frontrunners, and leading 12-0 after seven minutes, it looked like the Panthers would cruise to victory.

But injuries to Mansour (ankle) and Peachey (pectoral), opened the door for Brisbane who scored the next 18 points of the match.

Penrith returned serve by scoring the next 22 points before two late tries to the Broncos reduced Penrith's lead to just six points with nine minutes remaining.

Parker slotted a sideline conversion to level the scores with two minutes remaining but a knock on from Josh McGuire from the ensuing kick off allowed Moylan to slot the match winner.

With skipper Peter Wallace on the sidelines for at least the next month, the Panthers will again be on the lookout for a halves partner for Soward, with Isaac John also out injured.

Moylan, who has played plenty of junior football in the halves, could be an option for coach Ivan Cleary although he was devastating on Monday night in the No.1 jersey.

A couple of penalties gave Penrith three consecutive sets to open the match, before a cross field kick from Soward, which was tapped back by Jamal Idris, fell into the arms of Elijah Taylor to give the home side a 6-0 lead after four minutes.

Some fancy footwork helped Moylan expose some weak Broncos defence to give Penrith an early 12-0 advantage, before Dale Copley reduced the deficit back to six when he crossed out wide.

A show and go from Ben Hunt fooled Soward and allowed the Brisbane No.7 to split the Panthers defence and link with Justin Hodges to level the scores in the 33rd minute.

With Peachey up the tunnel, Broncos substitute hooker Jake Granville made the Panthers pay, diving over from dummy half from close range to give Brisbane an 18-12 lead.

But another piece of brilliance from Moylan put Soward into open space, before the Panthers five-eighth produced an incredible no look flick pass to put Kevin Naiqama in on the stroke of half time.

Soward also played a hand in the first try of the second half, with Segeyaro latching on to a bomb from the five-eighth, offloading to Bryce Cartwright who in turn put Dean Whare over in the corner.

Moylan, who was giving the Broncos defenders nightmares, played a hand in Penrith's next try, with Naiqama finishing off a sweeping backline play to give Penrith a 30-18 lead.

It was another Soward kick that led to more points, with Lewis Brown latching on to the tap-back to give Penrith a 34-18 lead with 20 minutes remaining.

But two tries in five minutes to Jack Reed and Daniel Vidot set up a grandstand finish, before Corey Oates crashed over with two minutes on the clock.
