Australian Children’s Education and Care Authority conducted a two day assessment of the centre to ensure it fit in with new regulations.
The school received a glowing final report that saw it exceed the national standard.
Preschool director Gabriella Howard said staff were feeling a range of emotions from excitement to being overwhelmed.
“In any career it’s nice to be acknowledged for great work, so we welcome the rating. However, we really feel privileged to engage with children and their families in a warm and caring atmosphere,” she said.
“Ultimately, we’re all in this for the kids.”
Ms Howard said it was a great way to bring in the centre’s 10th year anniversary.
“It is a very stressful process, so I congratulate Kellie and her team for achieving the amazing result and we thank those families who also contributed to the intensive process,” Ms Howard said.
“We are honoured to achieve the exceeding rating and acknowledge that we are very lucky to have a career working closely with families and their children.
“Our staff is a mix of younger and mature teachers with their own children and grandchildren, which is very much a strength of the centre.”
There are seven quality areas which are checked during the assessment process and to receive an exceeded rating the service must offer a comprehensive preschool program.
