Funding of $200,000 was allocated to complete the purpose-built group home in the 2014-15 State Budget.
Last week builders and project managers met with the Minister for Disability John Ajaka and member for Kiama Gareth Ward for an inspection of the home.
Minister Ajaka said the work meant residents were one step closer to moving into their purpose-built homes.
“The residents living in the current Warilla facility have had significant involvement and input into the design and construction of their new home,” Mr Ajaka said.
“Once they move in, these clients will be afforded the little things so many of us take for granted like cooking dinner and gardening.
“I hear wonderful stories from clients and their families of how living in the community has changed their lives and this new home will deliver improved support.”
Senior manager of Disability and Homecare of the Family and Community Services department Stephen Lewin said the building was part of several homes to support people with disabilities.
‘‘This house in particular is to replace the current Warilla house which five residents live in,” he said.
“We are at the eight-week inspection period. We hope to have it completed in the next three months.”
