Ms Watson criticised the NSW Government on the handover of the 2014/15 Budget was “just planning money” and “all pastry and no meat.”
“I am very disappointed that the State Government only provides a miserable $1 million towards planning work for the Albion Park Rail bypass.
“There was a $70 million blowout on the Berry bypass, which could have gone into the Albion Park bypass. We would have at least seen a start on the bypass .”
“This planning seems to go on and on and on, the bypass has been an issue for four years and all we seem to have is planning money.
“Instead, we will be forced to wait and wait for any real action on the Albion Park Rail bypass for a very long time. This is simply unacceptable.
“This is a kick in the guts for the electorate of Shellharbour.”
Ms Watson welcomed the funding for a new ambulatory care facility at Shellharbour Hospital but said, “it fell way short” of the $300 million upgrade that was identified by the government’s hand-picked Illawarra/Shoalhaven Local Health District Board.
“I’m more than disappointed, I was hoping for substantial funding as was the electorate, which was based on feedback and consultation from them.”
