Wollongong theatre company MoonGlow Productions managed to secure the rights to stage the nation's first amateur production of the hit Broadway musical for three shows only on July 4 and 5.
Featuring a cast of 50, including i98FM breakfast host Bianca Dye in her Wollongong musical theatre debut, the show is sure to have audiences singing.
Producer Emma Spillett said the show was a must for theatre lovers of all ages.
"It's just an enjoyable show," she said.
"The dialogue is very funny and it's got some beautiful music as well - it's definitely one of those shows that you can't get out of your head."
Based on the hit film starring Reese Witherspoon, Legally Blonde follows the tale of blonde-haired, pink-clothed Elle Woods as she embarks on a degree at Harvard Law School, in a desperate bid to win back her former flame Warner.
Ms Woods, with the help of kooky hairdresser Paulette Bonafonte, teacher Emmett Forrest and the Delta Nu sorority, manages to navigates law school, love and the legal system - without losing her sense of style.
The show will feature a live orchestra, along with the dogs from the professional Sydney production of Legally Blonde.
"Working with animals is fraught with danger but these adorable puppies have been an absolute treat," Ms Spillett said.
