The Idea Bombing forum is part of Shellharbour City Council's Creative Shellharbour project, which is being conducted to help the council form its Arts and Culture Strategy.
The informal forum will allow artistic and imaginative people to share their thoughts in 10-minute "lightning talks".
It's hoped the talks will encourage brainstorming about what art and cultural initiatives they would like to see in the city and how they should be delivered.
"This event will be a mash-up of community brainstorming, meeting and talk series to uncover creative ideas and discover how to make these ideas a reality," Mayor Marianne Saliba said.
"It will be a great evening of music, food and inspiring talks about how we can make Shellharbour a more creative city."
Topics including visual and performing arts, festivals, the creative industry and the built environment including place-making and public art will be addressed at the forum.
The Idea Bombing forum will be held on Friday, June 27, from 6pm to 8pm at the Shellharbour Village Exhibition Space.
People will also be able to write their ideas on the walls of the SVES from 10am to 2pm on the weekend of June 28-29.
