A writing and publishing family history workshop will be held at the Kiama Family History Centre this Saturday, August 25 at 7 Railway Parade, Kiama. Dr Noeline Kyle and Lorraine Purcell from the NSW State Library will run the workshop from 10am-1pm. Cost is $30 including morning tea. Bookings essential - call 4233 1122.

The next meeting for the 80th anniversary celebrations of Sir Charles Kingsford Smith will take place on January 11 and 12, 2013. Sir Charles Kingsford Smith flew from the beach at Gerroa to New Plymouth in New Zealand. Celebration organisers would like to contact anyone who was at the beach on January 11, 1933, or who is related to the men on this flight. Contact Ruth on 4234 1876 or Margaret on 4234 0220.

The next meeting of the Kiama Garden Club is Friday, August 24, 10.30am at North Kiama Neighbourhood Centre, Meehan Drive. Guest speaker is Paul Kirkpatrick of Estate Gardening, Jamberoo, who will give a talk on 'Norfolk Bounty'. Norfolk Island has a notorious history and amazing gardens. The bus trip and dolphin cruise has been cancelled.

Prime Time for seniors is on the second Wednesday of the month at Kiama Anglican Church. It is a friendly church service, followed by a light lunch and a short activity from 11am-1.15pm. Cost is $5 for lunch. RSVPs helpful but not essential. For details call 4232 2066.
