Trailing the Superoos 28-26 with under a minute to play, it looked like Jamberoo were going to put a dampener on Kiama's centenary celebrations until Alexander raced 80 metres to hand his side the win.
From the start it looked to be Kiama's day, with early tries to Tom Atkins and Oliver Powell handing them a 16-0 lead.
Jamberoo had other ideas though and with a succession of tries to Chris Woods, Matt Coehlo and Josh Champion the Superoos took an 18-16 lead, before a penalty goal to Alexander levelled the scores at half-time.
The two sides traded tries after the break before the visitors looked a surety when Gavin Jarrett crashed over to give them a six-point lead as time wound down. However but Kiama refused to die and cut the gap to two when Travis Poole crossed.
The two-point lead looked enough until Alexander produced the play of the game.
It was a different story at Noel Mulligan Oval, where Gerringong crashed Port Kembla's centenary party with a 48-10 win.
The Blacks jumped to an early 10-0 lead and were hopeful of an upset, but the Lions clawed their way back to lead 12-10 at half-time.
The second half was all red, white and blue as Gerringong ran in seven tries to race away with the win.
At Ron Costello Oval, Warilla kept up their strong start to the season, remaining undefeated after downing Shellharbour City 16-8.
In a bruising encounter, the game was almost 20 minutes old before a point was scored, Warilla winger Jarryd Pepper finally breaking the stalemate.
It was soon 4-all though, Ian Catania levelling the scores with some nice footwork, before Blake Colgan crossed for an 8-4 Warilla lead at half-time.
Warilla's lead was out to eight almost immediately after the break when Warilla speedster Chad Lisch crossed, but it was soon reduced to four when Justin Rodrigues crossed for the Sharks.
Try as they might, the Sharks couldn't find an equaliser and Tyson Brown sealed the win for the Gorillas with a late four-pointer.
At Centenary Field, Berry made it back-to-back wins in a high-scoring affair against Albion Park. Locked at 24-all at half-time, Berry ran away with it after the break to win 48-30.
At Bomaderry Sporting Complex, Nowra-Bomaderry beat Milton-Ulladulla, 46-20.
