Chamber president Deidre Hindmarsh said it was a way for the chamber to assist local businesses. The special guest will be Michael Di Leo, research director at the Illawarra Regional Information Service.
"As well as being able to start the day with a delicious hot breakfast, with tea and coffee, guests will be able to enjoy a short presentation on customer service from Mr Di Leo, who will talk about ways to meet your customers' needs," Mrs Hindmarsh said.
"The breakfast is free to chamber members and only $10 a head for non-members and we'd love businesses to bring along a staff member as well.
"Michael will show us how we can look after our existing clients, and give us advice on identifying our customers' requirements."
Customer service was crucial to business growth.
"Customer service is not just about hospitality staff; it includes everyone, from the legal secretary providing excellent support to clients over the phone, to the taxi driver assisting passengers kindly; and tradespeople politely dealing with their customers," she said.
The chamber will also launch its Customer Service Award, for outstanding customer service.
Dolphin Diner and Deli's Lilian Parr said looking after local customers was paramount as 80 per cent of their trade is from locals.
"They keep us going, so we have to make sure they feel special," Ms Parr said.
