A crowd started to form halfway through reserve grade, arriving in time to see them win. By 6.30pm there were close to 300 people ready for the siren to start first grade.
As a prelude, 40 Auskickers ran down a race of Kiama senior players before enjoying a 15-minute teaser.
One could have been forgiven for thinking they were at the SCG, the crowd roaring when players burst through a banner made by their supporters.
Kiama had expected Bomaderry to come out fighting but the home side had not just come to play, but win. With Ricky Neels and Travis Lothian both in goal-kicking form the scoreboard favoured the Power early, the foundations set as Kiama led by 14 points at quarter time.
In the second quarter Bomaderry settled, as tackles intensified and a great game of football unfolded.
By three-quarter time Kiama had the lead by 16 points, but the Tigers were still in the race.
With Hayden Pocock playing his best game for the season, Luke Fuller as tough as usual and Ben Williams finding form the Power were not going to let this game slip. After a James Sampson special from 60 metres out the Power had sealed another victory.
"This is my fourth year as president and I have never been so proud of what has taken place tonight," club president Troy Gent said.
"Not only have the players, members and sponsors come out to support us tonight but also the Kiama community.
"As lovers of AFL this was a big moment for us all and we thank the community for showing up in droves."
First grade: Kiama 14-17-101 def. Bomaderry 9-4-58. Reserve grade: Kiama 11-13-79 def. Bomaderry 7-5-47.
