To help celebrate the change to its winter opening hours, from 2pm until 5pm, they launched a new monthly cooking class with well-known Berry chef Adam Guthrie.
Guthrie used seasonal fruit and vegetables from the market to showcase how to cook and get more whole-plant food into our diets, watched by a class of about 20 people.
After the class he took the group on a tour of the market to meet the farmers, do a Q&A with them and then give the group time to shop for ingredients from the dish cooked that day.
This is a ticketed cooking class costing $10 per person and will be run once a month.
In the school holidays he will run the class each week and will focus on running children's cooking classes.
"We are taking some of the concepts from the Jamie Oliver 'Food Revolution' campaign to educate people about eating more fruit and veges and getting kids involved with cooking and eating better," Mr Guthrie said.
