IT WAS a week of fabulous weather for Kiama Bowling Club members, with smooth greens and willing social bowlers all that was necessary to make it a resounding success.
As usual the ladies had first use of our world-class facilities and the triples played on Tuesday featured D. Scott, M. Minet and A. Cooper as the happy winners.
Not far behind were N. Davey, N. Brown and J. Brownlie.
On Thursday, M. Minet showed her dexterity and claimed another win, this time in a pairing with G. Roy.
The men had to be content with their normal Wednesday afternoon triples and some familiar faces took out the prizes on offer.
This time it was M. Mesa, B. Manson and R. White in the winners' circle with M. Hair, J. Tomlinson and B. Hudson runners-up.
Thursday pairs had R. White victorious again, but in partnership with R. Laughlan.
Runners-up were A. Rogers and N. Tylee.
Our favourite district competition, the mixed pennants, started a new season last Monday and Kiama managed a first-up win against Berry.
This was a first and bodes well for future games.
Speaking of the ever popular mixed bowlers group, our travellers are headed to Birrong on June 1 for a day of fun and a morning tea.
Spaces are limited on the coach, so get your name down early.
Members of other bowling clubs are also invited to join us, so call the club on 4232 1176 if you are interested.
In regular men's pennants our twos were beaten in the first final by Windang, who advance directly to the grand final.
Our team can still play in the grand final, but now have to beat the winner of the Oak Flats vs Dapto match.
Fingernails have gone, how am I going to measure?
