Police are currently on scene at a property at Nicolas Baudin Drive, Encounter Bay, where the bodies of a man and woman have been found.
Police were alerted by the SA Ambulance Service about 12.10pm today.
It is believed at this stage to be a murder-suicide.
Superintendent Rob Williams, officer in charge of Hills Fleurieu LSA, said the deceased lived together. He could not confirm their ages.
A resident who lives close to the scene, who did not wish to be named, was at home when the events occurred.
"I didn't see or hear anything," he said.
"It was a quiet street."
Another resident on the street was gardening at the front of her home when the police arrived on scene.
She was surprised that such events could happen in her neighbourhood.
"It's usually quite nice," she said.
She was shocked to hear of the news.
"I think it's very sad."
Investigations are continuing.
The news comes just over a month after a double murder occurred in the same neighbourhood on Sunday, April 6. Michael Glen Phillips, 37, was charged with the murder of his parents, Maurice, 73, and Elizabeth, 66.
