Their joy was short-lived.
Gorillas lock Aaron Henry, a constant attacking threat, got on the outside of his man and sent Tyson Brown over out wide after 27 minutes.
The Eagles paid the price for failing to find touch from a penalty kick, Colgan scoring despite four defenders.
Missed conversion attempts prevented the visitors taking an even greater lead into the sheds.
Less than four minutes after the resumption Warilla extended their advantage, Paulissen barging over for a four-pointer.
Moed's converted try reduced the deficit to eight points, but was a temporary halt in momentum for the visitors.
A lack of possession and warm conditions tired the Park team, the Gorillas reaping the rewards via four tries in ten minutes.
Craig Nolan scored in the corner. After throwing a magnificent offload to set them up, Henry also touched down.
Colgan crossed twice in short order, the second after a play which perhaps summed up the Eagles' afternoon - the kick-off going out on the full.
Sheer pace from Nick Lazarevski put him in the clear and Brown backed up to complete the half-century rout.
Veteran front-rower Derek Gray scored a late consolation try for the Park.
Henry, Paulissen, Luke Watts and Colgan were the standouts for Warilla, while Moed, Sean Jenkins and Chris Rowles never stopped trying for the Eagles.
In other weekend games, Jamberoo Superoos held off a fast-finishing Milton-Ulladulla Bulldogs 38-32, while Kiama Knights made it three wins from four games with a 28-14 win over Berry Magpies.
