Sunshine best Easter gift for bowlers

KIAMA Bowling Club bowlers always knew that Kiama would produce fantastic weather for the Easter holidays.

Almost 50 social bowlers hit the greens on Saturday.

Strictly for fun, a great time was had by all.

We had to squeeze in postponed major singles matches and in a round two game M. Weir defeated M. Miller 31-27 only to be beaten by defending champion G. McIntyre 31-28 in the third round.

A round four match had last year's runner-up M. Wilson prevailing over C. Coleman 31-6.

In regular social bowls news Wednesday triples winners were C. Storer, K. Bratby and C. Twigg with R. Blowers, M. Lomas and S. Rolls runners-up.

Thursday pairs had W. Partridge and A. Morgan winners over A. Van Zanen and R. McNamara.

Our pennants matches have been somewhat erratic with the rain and there are a number of make-up games needed to determine flag winners. Good luck to all our teams in the run down to the finals and let us hope for a continuation of the sunshine.

The mystery of lawn bowls is set to be explained by Bowls Australia at our club soon and we would welcome the opportunity to introduce you to this absorbing game.

Come along and see what you are missing. For more information call the club on 4232 1176.
