GYMNASTS from Shellharbour club Carmel & Co achieved some outstanding results over the two-day NSW MG and WG Senior and Elite State Championships at the Sydney Gymnastics and Aquatic Centre.

"We are really happy with the results," coach Carmel Blades said. "The gymnasts have been working hard so the results are a reward.
"We're really looking forward to seeing some of the younger gymnasts in the club develop over the next few years."
In men's gymnastics, Level 8 Open competitor Robert Fassone finished in fourth place all-around after placing third on parallel bars and high bar and fourth on rings.
In Women's IDP (International Development Programme) Level 1 teammates Ruby Pass, Koffi Brookfield and Mischa Goedde all finished in the gold band, having scored more than 56.00 all around against a field of about 30.
Ruby had the highest score for the IDP 1 Division, with Koffi close in third place, followed by Mischa in fifth.
IDP Level 2 gymnasts Naomi Gibson and Abby Scolamiero finished in the silver and bronze bands respectively. IDP 3 teammate Adel Ryall finished in the gold band, as the highest ranking gymnast for Level 3.
Shiira De Horta finished in the bronze band.
IDP 5 Team of Olivia Falconer, Emelia-May Withers and Miranda Blades also did well in a field of high performance clubs. Olivia finished third all around with silver medals on beam and floor.
Emelia took gold on floor, with fifth place on beam and vault to finish fourth all-around, while Miranda took out silver on vault.
Koffi Brookfield, Mischa Goedde, Ruby Pass, Abby Scolamiero, Naomi Gibson and Shiira De Horta have all been selected for the NSW Bronze Squad, aimed at fostering the junior talent within the state.
Meanwhile, Emelia Withers, Olivia Falconer and Miranda Blades have been chosen for Gymnastics Australia's elite team Future Camp, to be held at the Australian Institute of Sport in May.
