Club secretary Steve Whitworth said the club will be remembering what he called the "triumphs and tragedies" of the past 20 years.

"We are hoping to have many past players join us for the evening, including foundation members," Mr Whitworth said. "We are also hoping to gather old photos and mementoes from throughout the years for display on the evening."

The club started in January 1995, when a small group of Jamberoo locals met at the Jamberoo Pub to talk about forming a team to enter the Wollongong District Amateur Soccer Association. The next month, the team was entered in division two with 18 registered players. Their home ground for the first season was Webb Park, at Kanahooka.

"The team finished seventh out of nine teams and were voted the best and fairest team within the association in that season," Mr Whitworth said.

A number of the Webb Park Rangers players came across and joined the club for season two, enabling Jamberoo to enter two teams in 1996 in division two, Jamberoo Red and Jamberoo Green, with the Reds being minor premiers and the Greens wooden-spooners.

Finding a home ground was always a challenge, with the club playing two seasons in Kiama before moving to the Croom Sporting Complex at Albion Park Rail. Eventually, they moved to their home of the past 13 years Kevin Walsh Oval, Jamberoo, where additional changing room and storage facilities have been constructed, as well as seating.

"We won the competition in 2009 and today the club has three teams, two over-35 teams and an all-age side."

There are 60 players registered with the club.
