Jamberoo Superoos secured a draw, while both Kiama Knights and Gerringong Lions were narrowly beaten.

The Lions, after a first round washout, took on the Shellharbour City Sharks at a rain-soaked Ron Costello Oval and came up just short by 16-12.

Heavy rain and being the fifth game on the ground during the day made conditions difficult for both sides.

The Lions led for most of the first half before surrendering the advantage right on half-time to trail 12-10 at the break.

They levelled things up early in the second stanza, but in the end it was the slippery ball and wet ground that played its part. Sharks second-rower Ryan Schuster dived on a rolling ball in the in-goal to break the deadlock.

The Lions had a couple of late chances, including a close-call from a cross-field kick, but in the end couldn't bridge the gap.

For Shellharbour, Hans Schuster, Harold Snell and Brad Chapman turned in fine performances, while Brad Davidson, Taylor Hudson and Patrick Cronin were Gerringong's best.

Kiama can consider themselves unlucky not to have drawn their game against Warilla-Lake South Gorillas, conceding a penalty goal after the bell to go down 20-18.

The Knights out-enthused their highly rated opponents in the first half and led 10-6 at half-time.

However, the Gorillas hit back hard and with 20 minutes remaining had surged to an 18-10 lead.

Kiama lifted though and a Cameron Whittaker break led to a Keiran Poole try. A conversion and penalty goal to Jack Alexander tied the scores before the late Warilla goal sealed the win.

Jamberoo Superoos are still looking for their first victory after scoring six tries to five, but and had to settle for a 28-all scoreline against Nowra-Bomaderry Jets.

In a game highlighted by a host of spectacular tries, their kickers had little luck.

The Superoos trailed 24-16 at half-time (four tries each), but fought back to 28-24 late in the game before the Jets tied the scores.

Matt Coelho, Jono Dallas and Adam Vanzanten were the best for the Superoos.

In the weekend's other game, Port Kembla Blacks have already equalled their number of wins recorded last season, defeating the Milton-Ulladulla Bulldogs 20-18.
