After Saturday's first round, A-Grade witnessed a titanic battle between Ben Purcell and Ben Pearce. Both finished with 76 gross, but Purcell has a slender hold on the best nett round of 69.
Dave Taylor has established a solid foundation in B-Grade to lead with 86 gross.
Jake Reay's 70 net was good enough to secure the best net score. C-Grade is headed by Dave Robinson's 100 gross with Jamie Reay firing 71 net.
The second round was cancelled due to the heavy rain, so the championships have been reduced to three rounds, which will be played next weekend.
The men's Monthly Medal was played in conjunction with the first round. Ron Quinn notched up his first medal win with 68 net.
A-Grade winner Ben Purcell (69 net); runner-up Ralph Szulerowski (72 net).
B-Grade winner Jake Reay (70 net); runner-up Dave Taylor (72 net). C Grade winner D. Becker (76 net); runner-up Ian Jolley (79 net).

Alan Middleton's ascendancy as a golfer took a big upward curve when he won the 12-Hole Chook Run with a confidence-building 28 points. Daniel Hamilton showed that he's no slouch, scoring 26 points to be runner-up.
Balls went to Geoff Manning (22 points) and Michael Gleeson (21).
