Slightly less elated were Ian Donald (39), Mick Johnson (38) and Don Hughes (38 pts). Balls were given out to players who had 35 points or better.
Steven Holmes had good reason to pop the cork on Saturday in the Cronin's Liquor-sponsored Stableford with a resounding win on 43 points. His fellow A Grader, Gary Lenson, had the next best score of the day with 41 points.
B Grade's outstanding player was Gary Cork with 40 points, closely followed by Geoff Manning's 39 points. Balls went down to 37 points. Matt Swain took full advantage of Sunday's ideal playing conditions, finishing with 40 points to win 3 points clear of Barney Gillard, but Barney was the only player to register a Nearest to Pin on the 8th.
Dave Taylor's playing form continues to improve if his 27 points in the 12-Hole Chook Run is anything to go by. Also striking the ball well was Trent Conkey who was unlucky to be relegated into runner-up spot after a countback on his 27 points.
