Coach Michael Garcia named his squad against the opposition of last year's top side Thirroul, Picton Rangers and Corrimal Rangers, resulting in two draws (1-all, nil-all) and a 1-0 loss.
Games featured 20 minutes each way and the team performed well on a rain-soaked playing field. The coach used different selections to give everyone a chance.
Brendon Jovanovski was in-goal; the defence played with Ryan Trevor, Jason Murdzevski, David Kiss, Daniel Brsgkovski; the midfield was Gary Newall, Nathan Belsito, Richard Brown, Chris Murdzevski, Armando Moreira and up-front were Brendon Burke, Liam Gallo, Sam Markoulis, Tony Napper, Stephen Jovanovski, Daniel Petrolo and Christian Cappeta.
This Saturday at Keith Bond Oval the Falcons host visitors from Sydney, the Camden Tigers. Competition includes three grades, starting at noon, 2pm and 4pm.
Youth grade coach Klaus Wunsch has to make his final selection this week, as do reserve grade coaches Nathan Porteous and Michael Guinery.
The competition kicks off Saturday, March 8 with a home game against Helensburgh.
