South Coast's powerhouse clubs delivered a batting feast, scoring a combined 513 runs for just nine wickets lost.

Ultimately, it was the Lakers' top order, which proved too strong.

Batting first, Oak Flats opener Kieran Gray blasted 131, including 16 boundaries and two sixes, to guide the Rats to 7-256.

Gray and opening partner Michael Arblaster (58) put on 144 in 32 overs.

White backed up his 104 against the Rats in the SCG Country Cup six days earlier by smashing 125, featuring 20 boundaries.

White and Tony McCabe (54) scored 142 for the opening wicket and with Scott Ulcigrai (64 not out) in great touch, the Lakers won by eight wickets with almost five overs to spare.

"This is one of the most satisfying wins of my career," Lakers skipper Shane Cody said.

"Two really good sides going head-to-head on an absolute batting road; it was a great contest.

"Kerrod [White] and Kieran [Gray] are too good for this comp.

"It's a pleasure to see them bat the way they do.

"Coming off the ground I thought chasing 256 that [Oak Flats] were 20 runs short, and knew if we batted to our potential we'd get the runs and that's how it played out."

However the Lakers' dreams of making an elusive final of the SCG Cup came to a crushing end when they were defeated in the semi-final against Tamworth at Croom Regional Sporting Complex after eliminating Illawarra club Corrimal in the quarter-final.

The South Coast competition resumes next weekend with the start of the final five rounds of two-day competition.

Shellharbour face Albion Park at Scout Willoughby Oval in a vital match that will have a large bearing on both sides' chances of making the semi-finals.

Oak Flats are at home against Gerringong-Jamberoo, Lake Illawarra host Kiama and Warilla Kookas take on The Rail.
