Warilla's Alana Taylor will take part in the 2014 competition.
The 19-year-old recently deferred her Bachelor of Commerce studies at the University of Wollongong.
She's currently working as a manager at Warilla McDonald's, while also running a photography business in her spare time.
"Photography is the real passion," she said.
"I'm always shooting on my days off from Maccas.
"Maccas is the bill payer and photography is my real passion.
"I like how I have complete creative control of it.
"I can think of something in my head, and put it in a picture.
"I love doing portraits and capturing the inner beauty; it's really magical."
Ms Taylor has been attending the Albion Park Show since her childhood.
She was approached by showgirl co-ordinator and former winner, Amanda Madruga.
"I think it's great how it's not just a beauty pageant," the teenager said.
"There's a backbone of what's going on in the world, and that's what I liked about it."
The former Lake Illawarra High student said she was beginning to prepare for the event.
"I just want the experience," she said.
"If I get further than the first stage, that's fine and another experience to add to my book."
The Albion Park Showgirl competition forms part of the Sydney Royal Easter Showgirl competition.
The competition will take place on January 11 and 12.
The winner of the Albion Park competition progresses to the zone final in Milton and from there the opportunity to win a place at the Sydney Show.
It is open to women aged 18 to 24 who have lived in NSW for three months or more.
